FAQ's
Why should I choose to work with you? Many session musicians have a "safe take" mentality. When people are on the clock for expensive studio time the sounds and takes are often compromised due to budget constraints. I am a seasoned creative musician who will try ideas outside the box. This is an environment that removes the pressure and focuses on results.
What kind of reference tracks do you need? I need a stereo mix of the music track (MP3 preferred). Please make sure there is a two-bar count-off and include the click track (preferably on a separate track).
How will I be able to check your work? You will download proofs from your FTP site or I can email an MP3 to you.
May I make a Revision? Yes, I will work with you until you are satisfied. My goal is to have happy clients.
How do I send you my songs? The beauty of the web is that you can e-mail me a stereo mix of your song in .mp3 format to studio@guitarbiz.com. I will then convert it to an .aiff file and import it directly into my software.
If I do not have a high-speed internet connection, can I mail my songs to you? If you choose to use "snail mail", you can send your song(s) to the following address.

How long will it take before I can hear an MP3 or a sample of what you recorded? I will usually send an MP3 to you for approval within 24 to 48 hours, depending on scheduling. I can either send a disc with the files by overnight mail or load them to your FTP site. Using an FTP site allows for quicker turnaround.
How do I get my finished song back when you are done? I can either send a disc with the files by overnight mail or load them to your FTP site.
What if I have my own ideas for you on my song? That's great - all ideas are welcome. It's your song and it should sound the way you want it to sound.
Can you replace or add to existing tracks? Yes, I can either replace them all or add new tracks.
Do you prefer Mac or PC format? Either format will work.
What recording software do you use? I use Pro Tools Digi 002 with an iMac G-5.
What formats does Pro tools use? Pro tools can work with .wav .aiff or SDII files created on either PC or Mac.
What microphones do you use? Please see my Studio Setup page for a list of my equipment.
Is your service only available in the U.S.A.? Absolutely not. Again, the beauty of the web is that as long as you have access to a computer and the internet (broadband is ideal) you can send me your .mp3 files from anywhere in the world.
What are your rates? Rates per song are very affordable. Please e-mail me to discuss your individual project.
How do I pay you? I can accept a check, money order or credit card. (Sorry no PayPal accepted. I get too much fraudulent spam/junk mail whenever I use it).
